Pay range:

$34.57 - $56.01

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for knowing and practicing basic principles of aseptic technique, setting up sterile supplies and instrumentation, counting and coordinating activities with the circulating nurse, and anticipating needs and assisting the surgeon during the operative procedure. The Surgical Technologist also works as a team member to facilitate patient care prior to and following procedures. May provide care to patients of various ages.

The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for knowing and practicing basic principles of aseptic technique, setting up sterile supplies and instrumentation, and assisting the surgeon as needed during the operative procedure. The Certified Surgical Technologist also works as a team member to facilitate patient care prior to and following procedures. May provide care to patients of various ages.

Qualifications

Surgical Tech:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required or has satisfactorily completed a formal military or hospital-based training program.

  • Surgical Technologist registration in the State of Washington required.

  • Healthcare CPR is also required.

  • One to two years experience desired.

Certified Surgical Technologist:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required or has satisfactorily completed a formal military or hospital-based training program.

  • Surgical Technologist registration in the State of Washington required.

  • Current certification (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.

  • Healthcare CPR is also required.

  • One to two years experience desired.
